Day 9 - 11

In huntington beach most of us slept late and some went down to the beach. We had the great luxury of waking up slow for the first time in awhile. Late we went down to the beach and hung out. Got to listen to sweet conversations about people bringing alcohol in sippy cups and partyin down at the beach. After we got done at the beach we went home and watched bruno and borat, laughed our asses off pretty good.

Next day we were playing at the china town youth center in fresno with blackwater, lifeless and xibalba. The show was the usual sketchy ass china town in fresno. On the upside though, it was free slurpee day at 7/11. When we were chilling in the van some dude comes and sticks his head in our van trying to scope out our stuff. Then he continues to sing to us and try to bum money. Essentially it's the same thing throughout the night with him trying to get money from us. The show was pretty fun for the night. Lifeless covered infest which is always fun. Later the dude who has his head in our van comes back and is PISSED. He tells us that we could choke him if we give him a dollar and that he is going to "smoke us". At that point we said fuck staying in fresno for the night. So after Xibalba jammed through their set we headed out to Reno.

Of course as soon as we leave every single person except me falls asleep. I drove for a solid 2 hours then needed to stop. So I stopped at a rest top. I set up my sleeping bag in front of the van to go to sleep and Vedad ended up joining me. After an hour of laying there a carful of hispanic people got dropped off(at a rest stop?). They spoke spanish the whole time but I could tell they were arguing. At one point or another I started hearing slapping so we got the fuck out of there.

We arrived in Reno, ate awful awful and then went down to the river. The first time I went down them a year ago I got FUCKED UP. This time I went down and had a great time with no injuries. Afterwards we watched role models, napped, then headed to the show. This was hands down my favorite show of the tour. It was CodexRed, None and Bully. CodexRed shredded their set, None shredded their's and then we played. Everyone went nuts and circle pitted like fuck! We played solid and had alot of fun.

Today we're playing at the den in Sacramento. I picked up a limp wrist 7''. Solid find.

Days 6 - 8

We woke up early to head to Denny's to get all you can eat pancakes for $4(and share them with each other for $2 a person). After our meal Tyler, Max and Vedad hung around to play the claw machine. We all went out side leaving them to their own devices thinking it wasn't anything. 15 Minutes after sitting in the van I thought I should probably go check on them. When I went in they were hooting and hollering about how they had won 2 hats and a ball and that they had to win the pink hat for Tyler. I left thinking they were wrapping up. Then Kayla goes inside and comes back out saying they're not resorting to sticks and putting their hands in the machine trying to get this hat. I guess some concerned citizen coming in decided to tell them and Max asked the lady "did you fucking tell on us?" in which point she denied it. The lady ended up getting them kicked out and Max, Vedad and Tyler were so upset they had no idea what to do with themselves. So they decided to go to the entrance of Denny's and moon the lady. After a brief minute of kicking things in the parking lot they acted. They stood in front of the door for a minute to make sure they were looking then they took out their extremly white butts. At that point the lady slammed her arms on the table and chased after them. The whole time she we was yelling "you fucking chicken shits".

After this debocle we went to check out record stores around denver and ended up buying a black sabbath cd. We headed to the show pretty early because we really had nothing else so do. The show was kinda small and maybe a tad bit awkward since it was the kind of show that all the people's high shcool friends went to. We had to leave right afterwards and start our 14 hour drive to Tuscon Arizona. Before we left we rented Bruno, The Hangover and She's out of my league. All movies were hilarrious. On the drive we occurred many strange huge bugs and border patrol check points.

At the show in Tuscon we played with Busted Bearings who was sick as fuck. The other local dropped and it was literally ONLY the guys in busted bearing watching us. They told us that Defiance, Ohio was playing across town and that we should go and try and play, so we did. We talk to owners and everything to try and convince them to let us play, and they did. We had to play AFTER defiance, ohio stopped playing. Which meant it would be difficult to get people to stick around. We went around and talk to everyone wearing punk shirts or power violence shirts(which is basically everyone that isn't a hipster at a defiance, ohio show) almost everyone said they'd stick around, and no one really did. Defiance, Ohio killed and played a bunch of the songs I really like by them. After they got done we instantly set up and ran through our sets. The energy levels were high and it was fun regardless if we only played to about 10 people. I was just pumped it was any amount of people bigger then the amount we originally had watch us earlier in the day.

We headed out to San Diego pretty early in the morning. At 9 in the morning it had to be pretty darn close to a hundred degrees. We got going with the AC blasting. It was about a 6.5 hour drive but was made longer by all the check points we had to go through. It often seemed everyone else just got waved forward without being talked to, yet we always got stopped and talked to, whatever. At least we don't have to deal with those anymore. We arrived in Escondido at the metaphor cafe and people were showing up pretty regularly. The first band was called crooked fang and sounded ALOT like shook ones, vocally and instrumentally. Second band was a band we had played with before called warscroll. I think they were alot cooler then I thought before. They had sweet d-beat riffs that mixed in black metal parts, it was awesome! None and bully set up fast as usual and started playing. Before None played max said "2 years ago today, I found my mother dead of a drug overdose" and some guy yelled "cheers". We all looked around to try and find out who it was, but it was to no avail. None killed out their set as per usual and then Bully took the stage. We went through our semi normal set and then got to dear mother part 1. Since max said what he said I thought it was important to talk about the importance of fighting the socialization of aldoholism. At which point the guy started laughing. I told him to shut the fuck up over the mic and then we played our song. And after the song the stupid fuck says "I can laugh at whatever I want". Childish right? After our set Vedad approached the guy saying he owes max an apology and they guy says he won't. Dude was just a child. We packed up and headed to huntington beach to where we are staying. Today is our day off so we're gonna go to the beach and do fun stuff. I finally got a full nights sleep.

Days 2 - 5

On day 2 we headed out farely early to go to Boise for the show with hummingbird of death. Of course it was the usual drive through nothing into the wastelands of Idaho. The show was SUPER good. A noise project called Catshit opened up the show followed up by Atonimous allies. Which was cool to find out they were playing because somehow we had their cd in the van and didn't know they were playing. They were pretty good street punk but they kinda lost me with lines like "whoa whoa suck my dick, whoa whoa, show me your tits" and "I wanted penetration." Both us and none shredded through our quick sets then hummingbird played. They played primarily new stuff I didn't realize but at the end they had a solid block of older songs that I was really into before. After the show we all went back to someone's house and nerded out on their record collect.

The next day we didn't have a show so we went swimming then went deep up into the mountains of Idaho for a firework show in a town called CROUCH. Crouch is a town that is maybe a half a mile long and has like 5 bars. There was old dudes bad generic country music for hours on end, little kids dangerously lighting off fireworks in the middle of the street, people drunk driving quads and cops drinking beers on duty. Max and Vedad said they even saw people snorting coke out right out in public in front of little kids! Just shows what you can get away with in small towns. After the firework display we packed up and headed back to Boise to grab our van and go out to Ogden, Utah.

We drove through the night so we could go to the legendary SPACE JESUS. We arrived in the morning and decided we were too tired to go right when we got there. So what's our first instinct? Sleep in the lawn at the state capital. Me, Max, Vedad and Tyler got a solid 2 hours of sleep before we heard sirens. These sirens were police officers kicking us out of the lawn at the capital. Here's how my interatcion with the cops went:
Cop: Hey man, you guys can't sleep here
Me: Ok officer, we'll get out of here right now
Cop: Ok, I just wanted to make sure you're all still alive (points at tyler) Is that girl ok?
Me: Well, actually it's a boy, but yeah he's ok.
Cop: Well, just make sure that girls ok. You guys can't sleep here.

Meanwhile, Kayla and Colter went to see space jesus without us. So we ended up driving to Salt lake for no reason. Then we drove to Ogden for our show with Crucified, Ill intent, Frustration and Shark Week. It was shark week's first show and they were really good. None killed it as always and then during bully's set we were getting mocked. Ogden, Utah HATES fast parts. Ill intent dudes saw the mocking and deciding revenge was in order for the primary mocker. As the show went on the kid kept getting punked by everyone because he was an idiot. When Crucified played their last song all hell broke loose because someone punched Jake from Ill Intent in the face a bunch of times. The room blew up to being Ill Intent dudes versus the whole of Ogden Utah. Tyler tried to pull 2 people apart and got punched in the face 3 times by 2 different people. At that point the crucified stopped playing and the fight broke up.

We drove through the night to get to Denver, Colorado. Once we got in Denver we saw the familiar faces of the ill intent and frustration dudes walking down to the platt river. We went to safeway to get gas for $2.52! We went down to the river, went down the rapids and then headed to the venue. The venue was super tight, it was a garage with a seperate building that was a record store. There was also a vert ramp out back. The show went by really good. No fights. Then we went back and slept at someone's house and showered for the first time in a few days. Everyone watched mortal kombat and I went to sleep.

Today we're playing Blast-o-Mat with My Heart to joy and Natives. Tomorrow we're playing in tuscon with a skate band that I guess kinda sounds like spazz. I'm kinda pumped.

Day 1 - Tour w/ NONE

Well, it really wasn't day 1, but it's the first day on the road. Yesterday Max and Vedad(of NONE fame) arrived in their little kia with 2 guitar cabs, a keyboard, and a whole drumset in the car! Which seems impossible. We had a show at Tyler's house with None and circle of defeat. Some people said it was weird, but I thought it was sweet. After the bands played Vedad played a piano set, it was hilarious, then we BBQ'd then me, max and kayla headed out on a 4 hour plus journey. We went and dropped Kayla's dog in Olympia, then drove to Bremerton to pick up the van. All of this was during night construction. We left at 930, got back at 245. Tyler was SOOO high by the time we got home.

We woke up early this morning(not as early I wanted) and then started getting shit together. On this tour we luckily have a 15 passenger van instead of a suburu or windstar, so we have room for all 3 guitar cabs, a drum set and plenty of luggage. The van had NO oil so luckily we checked it out before we left. We arrived in Moses Lake and found out we were playing in a gutted out mexican resteraunt. As the show got closer and closer we didnt think anyone would show up. When the show started it was a really good amount of people. When None played people LOST THEIR shit. None is such a good band. We played a solid set with Max playing for the first on bass, and the vibes were just fucking STRONG and good. A few kids sung along to most of the set and we had ALOT of fun. We are at the dude who booked the shows house right now and it's really nice and right on the lake, I'm excited to wake up and look at it in the morning.

Tomorrow we play in boise with HUMMINGBIRD OF DEATH. I'm super excited, we're waking up at 9 and taking off. Tour is gonna be awesome.
